Simora was originally conceived by James Morle in 1999 to accompany his book, Scaling Oracle8i. After major subsequent works, with large increases in usability and accuracy, the software was open-sourced via Sourceforge.

Perhaps the best way to get started with the software is to read the whitepaper, Brewing Benchmarks. This paper describes the software to a reasonably detailed level without being unapproachable, and is available here. 

The Sourceforge page should be used for all aspects of the software development process, including software downloads, bug tracking,  and CVS access. These pages will act as the official project website, however.
